You Just Keep on Trying til You Run Out of Cake...
So...about that list. I did sleep. A lot. I guess I didn't realize just how much sleep I've been missing, because my body had absolutely no qualms about sleeping until 4:15. I also showered and went to work. As for the other things, tomorrow is my day off and I will do them then. The much needed sleep should put a little kick in me.
I finally got ahold of Amber. Apparently she's been having a rough past few weeks which is why she's had issues getting back to me. She takes on an admirable and certainly stressful amount of tasks, so this is understandable. We should be hanging out tomorrow after she gets off work at 4. I think it's more than overdue for both of us.
Next on the short list of things that are actually interesting about my day: I put in my two weeks notice at Pizza Hut. The job at the coffee shop isn't concrete as of yet, but I figure this is the one time in my life where, if for some reason two weeks is insufficient to find new employment, I'll be okay financially until I do. Jeff is the only manager who knows right now-I asked Heather to talk to me when she got the chance, but she forgot and left before I could talk to her. Neither Kim nor Tammy were present. Grar-work was ridiculously awful today though. Wednesday nights are buffet from 5-7 and are regularly pretty busy. Typically, we have a hostess and two servers and do just fine. Tonight, Joanne called in sick but Donna, a delivery driver wasn't busy and hostessed for us. However, they scheduled me with a very recent addition who isn't experienced enough to take more than 4 tables at any given time yet. This means that she would get one table, and I would get 3 or 4 before she was able to take another (it was extremely busy today of course). If that was not bad enough, she's a minor and it was a two server chart on a busy night. She had to be out of there by 9:15, so I got stuck rolling silverware til after midnight. Jeff was nice enough to offer to mop and deckbrush since she couldn't do that either. I know it's not her fault though, and she seems as though she'll be a good server. She also did her jobs very well. It's just frustrating is all.
Other than sleeping and work, not much to update really. Zach made it to North Carolina fine, as expected, with nothing more than jet lag. Apparently Ellie got stopped at security though, which is funny as hell because she's the sweetest(and most oblivious), harmless thing you'll ever meet. Oh my.
